Access Keys

Web page access keys let you navigate around the site without using the mouse. They can be used to jump to specific areas of the site or to given areas within a page.

We have setup some access keys for the main areas of our site and they are shown below:

1	Go to Listings Grid view.
2	Go to Channel List view.
3	Go to Pick of The Day view.
4	Go to Search box.
5	Go to the news and gossip pages.

Using the access keys in your browser:

Web Browser	How to use access keys
Internet Explorer 5+ (PC)	Hold down the ALT key, press the number of the given access key, release both keys then press ENTER
Netscape 7 (PC)	Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the given access key
Firefox, Mozilla (PC)	Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the given access key
Firefox, Mozilla (Mac)	Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the given access key
Safari (Mac)	Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the given access key
Opera	Hold down the SHIFT key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the number of the given access key

Notes

Please note that some assistive technology tools such as the IBM HomePage Reader and WindowEyes already make use of the ALT+[access key] combinations. As such, users of these tools will not be able to use the access keys on this web site.

Changing Text Size

Most of the text on UK TV Guide can be resized using your normal browser text resizing facilities.

How to change the text size in your browser

Internet Explorer 5+ (PC)	Open the View menu with the mouse or press ALT and V Select the Text Size sub-menu or press X Choose your preferred text size with the mouse or use the up and down arrow keys to select and press Enter
Netscape 7 (PC)	Open the View menu with the mouse or press ALT and V Select the Text Zoom sub-menu or press Z Choose your preferred text size with the mouse or use the up and down arrow keys to select and press Enter
Firefox, Mozilla (PC)	Press CTRL and + to increase the text size, CTRL and - to decrease the text size
Firefox, Mozilla (Mac)	Press CTRL and + to increase the text size, CTRL and - to decrease the text size
Safari (Mac)	Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the given access key
Opera	Press the + and - keys on your numeric keypad to change the size of text and graphics
